This is the blog of a once athletic and now overweight girl trudging through the trenches to regain her health, endurance and overall fitness. Having already lost over 120 lbs, I hope to encourage others, not only with the things I have learned through my mental and physical journey, but also inspire and provide tips toward conquering your own mountain and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Despite having a long (although enjoyable) day, I still made time for my workout!  I personally try my best to workout at least 15 minutes a day, because not only does it help me burn off calories for the day, but I also feel so amazing afterwards.  The endorphins from working out give me a better feel good “high” than anything.  Even when I am not always in the mood to get up and workout, if I go, it always tends to snap me out of any depression and into a positive mindset.
Most days I workout at least an hour, but if nothing else, a short, but intense 15 minute workout does the trick.  Today ended up 40 minutes.  I just received my barbell along with two 5lb weights and two 10lb weights in the mail.  The 8lb dumbbells I had been using for curls and tricep work were AWFUL.  I have been needing to do nearly 20-30 reps of each move because I needed higher weights, but unfortunately lacked the money.  Thankfully, I had a bit extra this month, so it was time to up my weights, something I severely needed to do.  I went from working my triceps (which happen to be my weak area) with 8 lbs to working them with 20lbs.  Super proud of that.  Also did 30lb barbell squats and a mix of other weight lifting alongside two sets of Zuzana Light’s ZWOW #17.
