This is the blog of a once athletic and now overweight girl trudging through the trenches to regain her health, endurance and overall fitness. Having already lost over 120 lbs, I hope to encourage others, not only with the things I have learned through my mental and physical journey, but also inspire and provide tips toward conquering your own mountain and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

As difficult as it can be to always push your limits, I will admit, it always feels so amazing to surpass your own goals.  I set my limits high, even sometimes to a point that may be unreachable for myself on a given day, but I do my best and put in 100% effort every time.  I would much rather schedule three hours of workouts, try my best to aim to meet that three hour period and fail and only do two, then set my limits low and always meet my goals.  Its great to have a large gap to reach for, this is how you continue to push yourself as far as you can go.

While I slacked off on my fitness for a long time when I came back to the US, when I DO put in effort, I always try my hardest.  Even when you can’t meet a goal, you can be proud of what you COULD accomplish.  I thought to myself, I doubt I can hit an hour and a half working out, so I put my schedule to three hours and found out, through striving for what seemed so difficult for me, I reached higher than I expected, hit the two hour mark (and this isn’t to say you SHOULD workout this long, it was simply MY goal at the time).

If you want to reach for the stars, you need to first be willing to fail, but in failing, achieve and meet goals you never thought possible.  I know there is a bright future if only I keep working and the same bright future can be there for any one of you.
